Ferizaj Police Increase Traffic Checks, Issue Over 1,400 Fines

Ferizaj, Kosovo – The Ferizaj Regional Police conducted intensified traffic checks between May 4th and 10th, 2026, as part of an initiative to improve road safety and reduce traffic accidents within the region. The increased scrutiny involved a comprehensive review of traffic regulations. As a result of these checks, a total of 1,477 fines were issued to drivers found in violation of traffic rules and regulations.

Police officials emphasized the importance of adhering to established standards to ensure safer roadways. Data released by the Ferizaj Regional Police indicates that speeding was the most frequently cited offense, accounting for 338 fines. Irregular parking contributed to 215 citations, while drivers failing to utilize their headlights were issued 146 fines.

Further violations included disregarding traffic signs (92 fines), failing to maintain appropriate vehicle distances (75 fines), and other infractions. The police stated that the increased traffic checks are ongoing and aim to promote responsible driving behavior and enhance overall road safety within the Ferizaj region.
