The finance committee approved the loan agreement for the sector. The PDK voted against it.

The Budget Committee has formally approved the Draft Law concerning the ratification of the loan agreement established between the Republic of Kosovo, through its Ministry of Finance, and the International Development Association. This crucial project focuses on bolstering the financial sector within Kosovo. The vote resulted in six affirmative votes, alongside two dissenting votes cast by PDK deputies Kujtim Gashi and Mërgim Lushtaku.

One representative abstained from the decision. Finance Minister Hekuran Murati offered detailed justifications for the approval of the Draft Law. He emphasized the significance of this agreement as a vital step towards enhancing financial stability within the nation.

Murati viewed the loan as a strategic opportunity to reinforce the robustness of Kosovo’s financial system. The agreement represents a substantial investment, designed to promote sustainable growth and development. The dissenting deputies raised concerns regarding the terms of the finance and the potential impact on the country’s economic landscape.

Despite these objections, the majority of the committee supported the ratification, recognizing the importance of securing external funding for crucial development initiatives. This loan agreement is now set to move forward.
