Kosovo Assembly Appoints New RTK Board Members
The Kosovo Assembly convened today to elect the members of the Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) Board of Directors. Following a formal voting process, six individuals were confirmed as new board members. Valmirë Thaçi received 69 votes, Flokart Aliu secured 58 votes, Gëzim Brahaj garnered 56 votes, Xheraldina Cërnobregu was elected with 60 votes, Fatmir Podrimaj received 53 votes, and Ilirjan Himaj was appointed with 56 votes.
A total of 105 deputies were present during the voting, with three votes deemed invalid due to being blank. The results were read by Deputy Albana Bytyqi, detailing the distribution of votes for each candidate. Other deputies present included Faton Mustafa (16 votes), Anita Toçi (33 votes), Lulzim Beqiri (31 votes), Avni Zuka (3 votes), Adriana Sejda (36 votes), and Arta Jashari (13 votes).
The newly elected board members will oversee the operations of RTK, the public broadcaster of Kosovo. This appointment follows a process initiated by the Kosovo Assembly. The selection process involved a significant number of votes, reflecting the democratic procedures within the country.
