During the reporting period of June 26 to July 3, 2026, the Office for Victim Protection and Assistance managed a total of 49 new cases. According to official media reports, the assistance provided to victims at the Kosovo level covered a range of serious incidents. Of the new cases recorded, 46 were related to domestic violence, while the remaining cases included one related to rape, one related to attempted murder, and one related to murder.
In addition to managing these primary cases, the office processed several protective measures. Procedurally, there were 3 applications for a Protection Order (PO) submitted to the court and 9 applications for an Emergency Protection Order (EPO). The procedural actions also included one request for the withdrawal of a PO and two requests for the suspension of a PO.
The office’s workload also involved decision-making and victim support. A total of 9 decisions were approved, while 4 decisions were withdrawn. Furthermore, there was one request for compensation submitted to the victims’ fund, alongside two declarations of victim consent for assistance and one general complaint filed.
Regarding legal proceedings, the office handled 76 court sessions and 10 sessions conducted at the prosecutor’s office. Overall, the data reflects a substantial volume of support and legal intervention provided to victims across multiple types of violent incidents during the specified week.
