The prosecution has authorized the police to conduct investigations regarding the activities of KEDS employees.

The Basic State Prosecution in Pristina, through its General Department, has issued a statement concerning the suspected issues with KEDS’s metering equipment. The prosecution’s investigation is focusing on the possibility that these meters are failing to accurately record electricity consumption. Specifically, there is a strong suspicion that the crime of “Fraud,” as outlined in Article 323 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, has been perpetrated.

This situation stems from irregularities identified by the Metrology Agency, subsequently confirmed by the Court’s declaration and the reactions of both KEDS and KESCO. The State Prosecutor has authorized the Kosovo Police to implement all necessary investigative measures. The objective is to secure and gather further evidence pertinent to this case.

This includes planned actions targeting KEDS officials. The prosecution’s actions are directly related to the ongoing concerns regarding the accuracy of KEDS’s metering systems. The investigation seeks to establish the full extent of the irregularities and ensure accountability.

The focus remains on gathering sufficient evidence to support any potential legal proceedings.
