Tahiri Warns of Internal Threats to the State
Skopje – AAK Parliamentary Group leader, Besnik Tahiri, has cautioned that threats to the state originate from both external and internal sources. Speaking on April 23, 2026, Tahiri asserted that the stability of the state is vulnerable “not only by enemies, but when constitutional institutions are severed.”
He emphasized the critical importance of safeguarding the state’s core structures. Tahiri called for robust protection of institutions from undue political influence.
“These institutions must be protected at all costs from political capture,” he stated. The leader highlighted his commitment to prioritizing the independence of these institutions within his parliamentary work. He believes that maintaining a separation between political power and key governing bodies is paramount.
Tahiri’s comments come as concerns grow regarding potential interference in the operations of various state institutions. He underscored that the integrity of the state relies on the continued functionality and autonomy of these bodies, not solely on external challenges. The focus remains on ensuring the state’s security and stability through the protection of its established institutions.
