Turkish Minister Expresses Optimism Regarding U.S.-Iran Ceasefire

Ankara – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has indicated a positive outlook regarding ongoing efforts to halt hostilities between the United States and Iran, stating both nations currently possess the necessary commitment to achieve a durable resolution. Speaking in an interview broadcast on Monday with Resul Serdar of Al Jazeera, and as reported by Telegrafi, Fidan emphasized Turkey’s immediate priority: the continued observance of the existing ceasefire. According to reports, Fidan stated, “Our most urgent concern is to see that the ceasefire is respected; that is what matters to us at this moment.” He further asserted that “I believe that now there is sufficient will… from both sides to stop the fighting.”

The Turkish minister cautioned against any renewed escalation, warning that such an event would significantly undermine regional stability and negatively impact the global economy.
