California Man Documents Bizarre Encounter with Sea Kayak
A man from California captured a remarkable and unexplained event while traveling along the Santa Barbara coastline. Ron Takeda, a resident of the area, recorded a video documenting a sea kayak following his hydrofoil vessel for an extended period. The incident occurred on Saturday as Takeda and a friend, Tavis, were traveling from UC Santa Barbara to Carpinteria via a hydrofoil.
These specialized vessels utilize an underwater arm to elevate themselves above the water, minimizing drag and enabling movement in light winds. Tavis filmed the encounter from a mounted camera, capturing Takeda behind the controls. During the approximately 10-12 minute event, Tavis can be heard urging Takeda to “don’t fall” and “don’t stop” as the kayak maintained a consistent distance.
The video shows the kayak traveling approximately two kilometers off the coast. Tavis subsequently posted the video online, detailing the unusual circumstance. The incident remains unexplained, and authorities have not commented on the event.
This unusual encounter highlights a strange moment involving a man, a California coastline, and a persistent sea kayak.
