The VV deputy has clashed with the LDK: “Stop it…”

VV Deputy and LDK Engage in Dispute Over Presidential Vote

Pristina – Vetëvendosje (Self-Determination Movement) deputy Ilir Kërçeli engaged in a verbal exchange with representatives of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) following a disagreement regarding the process for electing a president. The dispute arose as negotiations regarding the presidential candidacy stalled. During the exchange, Kërçeli reportedly responded to statements made by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, referencing a previous remark directed at VV members who have since joined the People’s Democratic Party (PSD).

Kërçeli’s comment, according to reports, was a pointed critique: “Come back, take four ministers, not are we going to elections, let’s go to elections anyway.”

With eight days remaining before the scheduled presidential vote, the outcome remains uncertain. Failure to elect a president within this timeframe would trigger automatic parliamentary elections in Kosovo. The situation highlights the ongoing political tensions surrounding the selection of the country’s head of state and the potential impact on the government’s stability.

The deputy’s comments reflect the urgency and contested nature of the negotiations between VV and the LDK.
