Momçillo Trajkoviq, Chairman of the National Forum of Serbs from Greece and a member of the Presidency of the Serb National Council of Kosovo, has publicly criticized Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić regarding the perceived political and social trajectory of the Serbs in Kosovo. In an interview with the Belgrade newspaper Danas, Trajkoviq addressed the planned “symbolic voting” event scheduled in Belgrade around the Vidovdan commemoration. This vote is intended to gauge national priorities among citizens, including the preservation of Kosovo.
Trajkoviq characterized the initiative as merely a continuation of what he views as a simulated policy approach toward the region. According to Trajkoviq, the exercise represents a pattern of manipulation directed at the populace. He stated that the event mirrors a simulation of conflict narratives, specifically relating to the status of Kosovo and the rights of the Serbian community residing there.
The criticism centers on the belief that such staged political activities do not reflect genuine governance but rather maintain a controlled narrative. Trajkoviq suggested that these actions continue to undermine the stability and welfare of the Serbs within Kosovo. His statements frame the official state policies as overly focused on simulating historical or geopolitical conflicts rather than addressing tangible socio-political realities.
The remarks highlight a significant divergence of opinion regarding the appropriate path for the national community in the region.
