U.S. Military Reports Countering Threats in Strait of Hormuz Following Incident

The U.S. military announced today that all immediate threats within the Strait of Hormuz had been neutralized, leading to the waterway’s reopening.

This follows an incident earlier this week involving a vessel operated by South Korea’s HMM shipping company. According to a statement released on Truth Social by Donald Trump, “at this moment” there had been “no damage” after the passage through the strait. Trump’s post also indicated that U.S.

forces had “destroyed seven small vessels.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Seoul reported a fire and subsequent explosion on the HMM vessel within the strait on Monday. U.S. naval operations routinely transit the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for global trade.

Following the reported incident, the U.S. military took action to address the situation and restore maritime traffic. Trump’s statement further noted that “We have downed seven small vessels or, as they like to call them, ‘fast ships’.

It’s all that’s left.”

The situation remains under ongoing assessment as authorities investigate the cause of the initial incident.
