Vance: Nuclear inspectors will return to Iran

Vice President JD Vance detailed aspects of the agreement with Iran, confirming that nuclear inspectors will be permitted to return to the country as a component of the broader conflict resolution framework. Vance stated that a critical element of the accord involves the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the United States providing assistance to Iran in dismantling its substantial stockpiles of enriched uranium. He noted that this provision was clearly outlined in the memorandum of understanding already accepted by both the U.S.

and Iran. This discussion follows a period where the IAEA had requested clarification from Iran regarding the disposition of certain reserves. These materials have remained undeclared since the summer when the U.S.

and Israel conducted military actions against Iran. Currently, IAEA personnel have faced limitations in accessing the nuclear sites. The agreement, as detailed by Vance, aims to establish a pathway forward by addressing these outstanding issues concerning Iran’s nuclear program.

The commitment to international oversight and the verifiable destruction of enriched material form the core pillars of the proposed resolution.
