Volkswagen Unveils New Hybrid Engine for Golf and T-Roc

Volkswagen Launches New Hybrid System for Golf and T-Roc

Volkswagen has announced the development of a new full hybrid system designed to enhance efficiency and extend the range of its vehicles. The new system will initially be implemented in the Golf Hybrid and T-Roc Hybrid models, slated for availability beginning in the fourth quarter of this year. The innovative hybrid technology integrates a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor and a 1.6 kWh battery pack situated beneath the vehicle’s trunk.

Power is delivered exclusively to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission and a dual-clutch (DSG) system. While details are still emerging, it is anticipated that the hybrid system will be offered in two distinct power configurations, estimated at around 136 and 170 horsepower. The operational principle mirrors that of Honda’s e:HEV system, utilizing regenerative braking and electric motor assistance.

This system represents Volkswagen’s continued investment in sustainable mobility solutions. Further details regarding official specifications and pricing are expected to be released closer to the launch date.
