Snowfall Impacts Parts of Croatia Amid Severe Weather

Significant snowfall is affecting various parts of Croatia today, according to data from the Croatian State Hydrometeorological Institute (DHMZ). The institute reports ongoing snow accumulations across the country, particularly in lower-lying areas. The Gorski Kotari region has accumulated the thickest layer of snow, with localized snowfall also observed in cities including Ogulin and Gospić.

Measurements indicate substantial accumulations across the country. In Zavizhan, north of Mount Velebit, 40 centimeters of snow were recorded, while Delnice experienced approximately 30 centimeters. Sljeme, near Zagreb, recorded 16 centimeters of snow.

These weather conditions are causing disruptions to road traffic in the Lik and Gorski Kotari regions. Simultaneously, Dubrovnik and portions of the Montenegrin coast are experiencing severe weather, including strong storms. The DHMZ, as reported by Croatian portal Index.hr, confirmed these conditions.

The overall impact of the snow is being closely monitored by Croatian authorities. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
