On World No Tobacco Day, May 31st, a significant initiative is underway in Kosovo. The Kosovar Institute of Public Health, alongside the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and local municipalities, is launching a focused activity. This project, titled “Youth for a Tobacco-Free Kosovo,” aims to engage young people in combating tobacco use.
Students from grades 6 through 9 across all schools in Kosovo will participate in a creative endeavor. They will be encouraged to express anti-tobacco messages utilizing various artistic mediums. These include video animations, drawings, and other inventive forms of expression.
The goal is to foster a deeper understanding of the dangers associated with tobacco. The best submissions will first be evaluated at the municipal level. Subsequently, these outstanding works will be showcased at a central event on May 29th in Pristina.
This central activity will mark World No Tobacco Day. It will feature public health professionals, government officials, and members of the public. The organizers believe this collaborative approach is vital for promoting a tobacco-free future within Kosovo.
