A driver was penalized in Kosovo after being recorded operating a vehicle at a significantly excessive speed. The incident occurred on August 6, 2026, at approximately 09:42 AM, on the Davidovc–Belincë transit road segment within the Shtime Municipality. During additional controls conducted by the Regional Unit of Road Communication, authorities observed the vehicle traveling at 178 kilometers per hour.
This speed substantially exceeded the permitted limit of 60 km/h for that section of road. According to the Regional Police in Ferizaj, the driver, identified as A.M., aged 49, was operating a BMW M5 bearing foreign license plates when the excessive speed was recorded. As a result of this infraction, the driver was issued a fine totaling 500 euros.
Furthermore, a precautionary measure of a six-month suspension of driving privileges was imposed within Kosovo. The enforcement action took place where routine checks were being conducted by the regional authorities. The penalty serves as a significant deterrent regarding adherence to posted speed regulations.
The combination of a substantial monetary fine and a lengthy suspension underscores the seriousness with which speeding violations are addressed by local law enforcement in the region.
