233 fines were issued in Ferizaj to drivers who used their phones while driving in May

Using a mobile phone while operating a vehicle remains a leading contributor to road accidents. A recent report from the Kosovo Police highlighted the dangers associated with this practice. Specifically, the Ferizaj Regional Police issued a total of 233 fines during May 2026 to drivers found violating this regulation.

These violations were cited as endangering not only the driver but also all other participants in traffic. The Ferizaj Regional Police issued an appeal to all road users, urging them to maintain full concentration while driving. Officials emphasized that even a momentary lapse in attention caused by phone use can result in severe consequences for human life.

To assist in maintaining road safety, citizens have been provided with several avenues for reporting traffic violations. Reports can be submitted directly at the nearest police station or through the digital application named “Laj.” Authorities stress that adherence to traffic laws and undivided attention while driving are critical for accident prevention.
