The University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) reported significant activity at its Emergency Center over the past 24 hours, detailing the provision of 317 medical services to various patients requiring urgent care. The distribution of services across specialized wards reflected the breadth of care provided. Specifically, 94 patients were treated in the Resuscitation Ward, followed by 87 patients in the Internal Medicine Emergency department.
The Surgical Emergency and Orthopedic Emergency units each managed 56 patients. Additionally, 24 patients utilized the Minor Room for procedures such as wound suturing, processing, and cleaning. In terms of the causes of emergency visits, QKUK noted that the majority of cases involved trauma.
Thirty patients were treated for injuries sustained in traffic accidents. Furthermore, eight individuals sought emergency care following physical altercations. Throughout the hours of reporting, the facility also managed 28 referrals to other specialized clinics within QKUK for continued treatment.
These figures underscore the high volume and diverse nature of medical needs addressed at the center. The data compiled over the last 24 hours indicates that the Emergency Center remains a critical point of care, managing everything from acute trauma to routine minor procedures for the community’s patients.
