Kosovar Forces Mark 27th Anniversary of Battle of Koshar
On April 9, 2026, commemorations were held to mark the 27th anniversary of the Battle of Koshar, a significant engagement for the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK) during the struggle for freedom. In 1999, fighters from the UÇK, under the command of Brigade 138 “Agim Ramadani,” successfully breached the border between Kosovo and Albania. This action facilitated the supply of weapons and logistical support to the UÇK forces.
The battle, which lasted until June 10, 1999, took place under challenging conditions, but was characterized by the resolute determination of the Albanian fighters. The border crossing held strategic importance, contributing to the overall effort to liberate Kosovo. Furthermore, the event carried symbolic weight, representing a crucial step towards the liberation of the region.
