The Ministry of Economy has committed an allocation of 300,000 euros to support two distinct projects aimed at enhancing the drinking water supply infrastructure across multiple villages within the Municipality of Gjakova. Furthermore, these funds will also contribute to the realization of the “Gjakova III” project. The official contract signing ceremony for these initiatives was attended by Hasan Krasniqi, the Executive Head of the Republic of Albania “Gjakova.” The primary objective of the investment is the comprehensive expansion and rehabilitation of existing water supply networks in areas identified as having the greatest need for intervention.
According to the ministry’s announcement, the immediate beneficiaries of this critical infrastructure upgrade include the residents of the villages of Lugbunar, Osek-Hylë, Skivjan, Dol, Lipovec, and Gërçinë. The coordinated effort across these two projects is specifically designed to bolster the local water supply capacity. This strategic financial intervention will allow for the modernization of aging systems, ensuring a more reliable and robust water supply for the communities in Gjakova.
By focusing resources on infrastructure rehabilitation, the projects aim to meet the escalating demands for potable water across the municipality. The support provided to the “Gjakova III” project further solidifies a commitment to improving the overall quality and accessibility of water services throughout the region.
