The Emergency Center at the Kosovo University Hospital (KUH) reported managing 331 emergency cases over the preceding 24 hours. Hospital officials detailed the distribution of these services across various specialized units. Of the total cases treated, the Internal Medicine Emergency unit handled the highest volume with 111 patients.
Other significant areas of activity included the Orthopedic Emergency unit, which managed 62 patients, and the Surgical Emergency unit, which treated 56 patients. Furthermore, 79 patients required care in the Resuscitation unit, while 23 patients received minor care, including wound stitching, processing, and cleaning, in the Minor Room. Beyond these primary departments, the center addressed multiple types of incidents.
Reports indicated that 25 individuals sustained injuries as a direct result of traffic accidents. Additionally, three patients were treated for injuries sustained during physical altercations. Over the same period, the hospital also conducted 36 routine consultations across its various clinics, supplementing the acute emergency services provided.
The sustained activity over the last 24 hours highlights the diverse range of medical needs addressed by the KUH. The continuous influx of patients required coordinated efforts across all departments, solidifying the hospital’s role as a central facility for acute care within the region.
