Special police operations were conducted in the capital, focusing on dismantling networks involved in the acquisition and sale of illicit narcotics across various areas of Tirana. Authorities executed an operation, designated ‘Implikimi,’ through the Narcotics Investigation Section of the police department. The initiative aimed to identify and bring to criminal responsibility individuals, whether acting alone or in groups, who are engaged in the distribution of controlled substances within the metropolitan area.
During the course of these focused operations, police personnel stopped a vehicle near a rest unit located in the village of Bërzhitë. During the stop, authorities apprehended a state citizen identified as E.T., a 35-year-old resident of Tirana. A subsequent physical search conducted at the scene, as well as a search at the individual’s residence, revealed significant quantities of narcotics.
Police seized a total of 833 grams of cocaine, alongside 576 grams of Cannabis Sativa. The arrest marks a key development in the ongoing efforts by the police to combat drug trafficking within Tirana. The seizure of substantial amounts of cocaine underscores the ongoing focus on interdicting the supply chains of these substances within the region.
The investigation continues to determine the full scope of the network responsible for the drugs found.
