During a testimony before the basic court in Pristina, Ernes Kërqeli, the director of the water regeneration department in Ibër-Lepenc, provided detailed accounts of the events surrounding the terrorist attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal. Kërqeli’s testimony focused specifically on the critical incident that occurred on the night of November 24, 2024. He reported that the damage sustained by the vital Ibër-Lepenc canal was substantial, with preliminary assessments placing the cost of repairs and damage in excess of 376,000 euros.
Kërqeli outlined the immediate logistical response required to mitigate the crisis. He stated that in response to the attack, six pumps were rapidly installed that critical night to guarantee the continuous water supply necessary for Kosovo B. The director described the sequence of events beginning around 7:00 PM.
Upon receiving initial notification from field workers regarding the assault, Kërqeli immediately alerted departmental teams and notified executive chief Faruk Mujka about the incident.
