Interior Minister Bekim Sali stated that the government is not upholding the rights related to the “Maqedoni” case. Restrictions on institutions and individuals involved in the case are not in line with the principles of the rule of law, according to Sali’s comments to Alsat-M. He indicated that a coordinating body will report to the government regarding the implementation of measures, particularly where serious deficiencies have been identified.
“The coordinating body will report to the government regarding the implementation of measures, at locations where serious deficiencies have been identified, and “political measures” will be taken.” Sali affirmed that a new institution will be established to address the situation, and that restrictions on those involved will be lifted, ensuring the process proceeds without state interference to protect the rights of the ethnic group. The state will assume responsibility for safeguarding these rights.
