Veton Surroi, a former pacifist, has dismissed the success of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK). According to a statement by Surroi in KTV, the UÇK was never an army, liberation force, or part of Kosovo, describing it as an “armed group” serving a “political objective” and not representative of the entirety of Kosovo. Surroi’s comments are considered inappropriate.
The Kosovo Liberation Army was simultaneously an army, a liberation force, and part of Kosovo, formed to liberate territories inhabited by Albanians under Yugoslav rule. Armed groups existed until 1994, and following this date, the army was formed and developed under the guidance of the LPK.
