Government Extends Fuel Tax Reduction Measures Through May
Skopje – The government has approved the continuation of measures designed to reduce excise taxes on fuel derivatives, extending the current reduction until May 4th. The decision, announced today, maintains existing reductions in diesel, 95 octane gasoline, and 98 octane gasoline prices. Specifically, the excise tax reduction remains at 4 denars per liter for diesel, and 2 denars per liter for both 95 and 98 octane gasoline.
Simultaneously, the previously established agreement with oil companies continues, providing an additional 3 denars per liter reduction for fuel purchases and 2 denars per liter reduction for gasoline. The government cited the stabilizing effects of prior measures and current market price trends as justification for the continued support. Alongside this, the government has also amended the Decision on the Implementation of the Preferential Rate of Value Added Tax.
This ongoing action represents a sustained effort by the government to mitigate the impact of rising fuel costs on consumers and businesses. The decision underscores a commitment to managing fuel prices through targeted excise reductions.
