Skopje Man Charged in Drug Trafficking Crime
The Major Crimes and Penal Crimes Against Cultural Heritage Unit of the Organized Crime Suppression Department (DSHKO), in collaboration with the Heavy Crime Department, has filed a criminal complaint against E.L. (27), a resident of Skopje, with the Basic Public Prosecution of Skopje. The charges relate to the suspected commission of crimes against the production and distribution of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors.
The incident occurred on April 20, 2026, when DSHKO and the Skopje Heavy Crime Department conducted a joint operation. A Mercedes passenger vehicle, driven by an individual from Skopje, was stopped at approximately 22:00 on “Gjorce Petrov” Street in Skopje. During the stop, E.L.
was identified as a passenger. A subsequent search of E.L. resulted in the discovery of 29.24 grams of cocaine.
As a result of the investigation, E.L. was taken into custody and formal criminal proceedings were initiated. The Public Prosecution Office is now overseeing the case.
This represents a significant effort to combat drug-related crimes within the region.
