Lushaku-Sadriu: Kurti didn’t accept a compromise, drama with signatures to blame someone

Lushaku-Sadriu Attributes Presidential Stalemate to Kurti’s Inflexibility

Kosovar Deputy Jehona Lushaku-Sadriu has asserted that Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s unwillingness to compromise significantly contributed to the ongoing impasse surrounding the election of a president. Speaking on Debat Plus on April 30, 2026, Lushaku-Sadriu stated that the LDK has consistently sought a presidential candidate committed to integrity, one who ensures institutional balance and the independent exercise of governmental duties. Lushaku-Sadriu explained that the LDK’s efforts to reach a consensus were hampered by what she described as Kurti’s resistance to exploring political solutions.

“Kurti’s inflexibility to move towards a political consensus or agreement has made it impossible to achieve the agreement,” she stated. Furthermore, Lushaku-Sadriu characterized recent developments concerning the collection of signatures as a “political drama” instigated by Prime Minister Kurti. She emphasized the LDK’s dedication to finding a mutually acceptable solution, but attributed the current situation to a lack of willingness on the part of the government to engage in constructive dialogue.

The debate over the presidential election continues with both sides maintaining firm positions.
