The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MPB) Macedonia has released data detailing the enforcement actions taken over the preceding month. According to the agency, regular traffic controls conducted by police officers across the country’s roadways resulted in the issuance of a total of 16,885 tickets. The reported violations were categorized by specific infractions.
The most common offenses included speeding, which accounted for 4,473 tickets, followed by 3,851 citations issued for illegal parking. Additionally, 920 tickets were recorded for operating a mobile phone while driving. Beyond standard ticketing, the report detailed several serious breaches under Article 297-a of the Penal Code, concerning the reckless operation of motor vehicles.
During this period, authorities sanctioned 70 drivers for operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol. Further sanctions were issued to 241 individuals for driving without a valid license, and 33 drivers were cited for operating vehicles following a prior suspension. In terms of enforcement action, a total of 238 vehicles were seized by police during these operations.
These figures reflect the comprehensive efforts undertaken by internal affairs sectors to maintain road safety and enforce adherence to national traffic regulations.
