The Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica has released details regarding an anti-drug operation that resulted in the seizure of approximately 26 kilograms of marijuana. During the operation, three individuals were arrested following a vehicle inspection on June 1, 2026. According to the Prosecution’s notice, the narcotics were discovered and confiscated during the routine inspection.
Subsequently, the prosecutor issued an order detaining the three individuals for a period of 48 hours. The basis for the detention is suspicion of the criminal offense related to the unauthorized purchase, possession, distribution, and sale of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and analogues. The prosecution confirmed that the three individuals are currently detained pending further legal proceedings.
The Basic Prosecution stated its intention to file a formal request for the determination of pre-trial detention for the arrested individuals within the stipulated legal timeframe. The seizure of the substantial amount of marijuana forms the core evidence in the ongoing investigation. Authorities are continuing to process the case to determine the appropriate charges and subsequent legal steps for the involved parties.
