Risteski: There is no significant increase in product prices, while we have the freest derivatives in the region

The Deputy Minister of Economy and Labor, Marjan Risteski, stated that inflationary pressures and overall product prices within the country remain under control, indicating that no immediate new governmental measures are required. Risteski noted that the government has already implemented measures, specifically reducing excise taxes and VAT applicable to oil derivatives. The primary economic focus, he explained, is maintaining oil derivative prices at a level lower than those observed in neighboring countries within the region.

Risteski emphasized that any consideration for future interventions must be preceded by detailed analyses designed to safeguard the purchasing power of the citizenry. According to Risteski, the objective is to keep the cost of oil derivatives comparatively low relative to regional neighbors, while simultaneously preventing any price movement that could trigger a rapid escalation in the costs of other essential goods, particularly foodstuffs. He confirmed that while the current situation appears stable, the government maintains the requisite legal capacity to enact necessary measures in the future should economic conditions warrant such action.

Overall, the stability of the current product market, according to risteski, suggests a period of measured fiscal policy.
