Elezi: Tomorrow begins the process of counting ballots from the diplomatic missions

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has scheduled the commencement of the ballot counting process originating from diplomatic missions. According to Valmir Elezi, spokesperson for the CEC, the counting procedures are set to begin on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the designated Counting and Results Center (QNR). The announcement follows the completion of physical voting that took place on June 6 across thirty various diplomatic missions.

These international polling stations facilitated voting for Kosovo citizens residing abroad. Elezi provided preliminary statistics regarding the turnout. Out of a total of 27,724 registered voters who were eligible to cast ballots, the figures indicate that approximately 81% of those registered participated, resulting in 22,414 votes cast.

The commencement of the official count from these overseas missions is a critical phase in the election timeline, as it integrates international votes into the central tally. Election observers and stakeholders are expected to monitor the proceedings at the QNR as the process moves forward. The CEC has maintained that the counting process will adhere to established protocols to ensure transparency and accuracy for all participating missions.
