Police with reinforced actions, over 1500 violations from motorcycle, moped, and electric scooter drivers

The Macedonian Police Directorate (MPB Macedonia) announced the completion of a comprehensive enforcement initiative aimed at implementing both preventive measures and sanctions against traffic infractions. The operation focused on monitoring and detecting violations committed by operators of a wide range of motorized and non-motorized vehicles, including bicycles, motorized bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, tricycles, quadricycles, and electric scooters. As part of these focused efforts, authorities conducted 246 formal controls and executed 58 preventive activities across the entire national territory.

During these extensive controls, a total of 1,594 violations were recorded. The data revealed a concentration of infractions among motorized vehicle operators. Specifically, 1,417 of the recorded violations were attributed to the drivers of motorized bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, tricycles, and quadricycles.

Electric scooter drivers accounted for 174 violations, while bicycle drivers were responsible for the remaining three recorded infractions. Analysis of the documented violations highlighted specific patterns among the drivers. The most frequently cited violations among the operators of mopeds, motorcycles, tricycles, and quadricycles involved failures related to mandatory protective gear.

These findings underscore the MPB Macedonia’s commitment to enhancing road safety by addressing behavioral deficiencies among all vehicle drivers through rigorous enforcement controls.
