Following reports of fatal accidents on the “Ibrahim Rugova” highway and persistent citizen complaints regarding the deteriorated state of specific segments, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has moved to address the necessary repairs. The ministry has announced that contracts for the rehabilitation works on the R7 highway have been formally signed. According to the ministry, the signing of these agreements followed the completion of necessary procedural steps and a thorough review conducted by the Public Procurement Review Body (OSHP).

The comprehensive project scope involves significant interventions across three distinct locations along the vital roadway. The rehabilitation effort is structured into multiple lots to manage the scope of work. Specifically, Lot 1 covers the rehabilitation of a landslide located at kilometer 72.4, with an assigned value of 2,087,952.94 euros.

Additionally, Lot 2 addresses landslide rehabilitation at kilometer 69. These contractual agreements, signed by the ministry, represent a major undertaking to improve safety and structural integrity across the affected stretch of the highway.
