A new smartphone brand is coming to India

Indian company Fire-Boltt, currently recognized primarily for its smartwatches, is reportedly preparing to expand its product portfolio into the mobile phone sector. According to recent industry reports, the company plans to introduce a separate new brand named Boltt to enter the smartphone market. The initial lineup is expected to consist of two or three models.

These devices are slated to feature Unisoc processors and will be priced competitively, staying under 20,000 Indian rupees (approximately 180 euros). The stated objective for the new offerings is to provide a balance of affordability and reliability, positioning the company to challenge established players within the budget segment. Sources suggest that the debut of the Boltt smartphones could occur as early as the following month.

It is important to note that the existing Fire-Boltt brand name will be maintained exclusively for its wearable technology category, where the company currently commands an estimated 9.7% share of the Indian smartwatch market. This strategic separation allows the company to manage its diverse product lines under distinct market identities. The planned entry signals a significant diversification for Fire-Boltt, moving beyond its core expertise in wearables to compete directly in the high-volume smartphone category.
