SHSKUK continues Elvir Aziz’s mandate as general director

The Board of Directors of the Kosovo University Hospital and Clinic (SHSKUK) has officially voted to extend the tenure of the Executive Director, Elvir Azizi, through his reappointment. According to an announcement from SHSKUK, this decision was executed within the established legal and statutory competencies of the Board. The reappointment was framed by the Board as a measure designed to ensure institutional continuity, supported by the demonstrable achievements realized during Mr.

Azizi’s tenure. The Board cited the positive operational metrics recorded during the 2023–2025 period as key factors influencing the decision to renew his mandate. SHSKUK reported significant growth across several critical departments, indicating an expansion in patient care capacity and utilization.

Specific performance indicators highlighted include an 11.9 percent increase in the number of hospitalized patients and a 12.5 percent rise in surgical procedures. Furthermore, the facility saw a substantial 24.6 percent growth in outpatient visits. Laboratory services demonstrated a 20.5 percent increase, while diagnostic imaging services also showed marked improvement.

Specifically, CT scans increased by 12.7 percent, and MRI scans recorded the most significant growth at 71 percent. The reappointment of Elvir Azizi as Executive Director by the SHSKUK Board underscores the institution’s commitment to maintaining operational momentum and capitalizing on the documented improvements in healthcare service delivery.
