Audi will give its new face to the electric A4 model in 2028

Audi is currently in a holding pattern within the competitive luxury electric sedan market, where models such as the Mercedes C-Class and the BMW i3 are actively competing. According to Telegrafi, Audi plans to reintroduce the A4 model in 2028. This relaunch will feature an all-electric powertrain, representing a significant departure from the current A5, which was previously gasoline-powered.

Before the return of the A4, Audi has begun disclosing preliminary details about the anticipated electric sedan. Rouven Mohr, the Chief Technology Officer, confirmed that this upcoming volume model will be among the initial vehicles to showcase the refreshed design language debuted by the Concept C in 2025. This suggests a substantial evolution for the brand’s electric offerings.

The focus on the A4’s revival signals Audi’s strategy to reestablish a key sedan presence in the electric vehicle segment. While the market currently features established rivals, Audi is positioning its forthcoming model to validate its updated design vision. Industry observers anticipate that the new electric A4 will represent a significant step in Audi’s electrification roadmap, aiming to compete effectively upon its scheduled launch date.
