The strain intensified after President Karol Nawrocki reportedly decided to strip Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of a high Polish state honor. The disagreement reportedly stemmed from a dispute over the naming of a Ukrainian military unit, which was intended to honor leaders accused of involvement in the massacre of Poles during the Second World War. Siemoniak noted that the Russian information warfare directed against Poland has increased in recent weeks.
