Movement in the forest areas of Macedonia begins today

Effective today and continuing through August 31st, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Economy has implemented a comprehensive ban on all unauthorized movement within designated forest and forest land areas. This regulatory measure significantly restricts public access to these natural reserves. The directive specifically advises farmers and shepherds to exercise extreme caution regarding these new restrictions.

Any individual found violating the established movement ban faces substantial penalties, with fines ranging from one thousand five hundred to two thousand euros equivalent in local currency. Under the current regulations, passage through the forest is only permissible with prior written authorization. This required permit must be obtained directly from the respective branches of the “National Forests,” which manage the specific national park area in question.

This sweeping ban aims to manage activity within the forest ecosystem during this period. Authorities emphasize that compliance with the new guidelines is mandatory for all personnel utilizing the land. The restrictions are in place to ensure the preservation and orderly management of the natural resources until the specified end date.
