ATK suspends two tax officials after filing charges

The Tax Administration of Kosovo (ATK) has announced that it has initiated preliminary actions following an indictment filed by the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Gjakova. The indictment accuses two tax officials of criminal misconduct, specifically citing abuse of position or official authority and the receipt of bribes. In a statement released to the media, the ATK confirmed that, in adherence to current legal provisions governing the employment relationship and status of tax officials, the administration has suspended both individuals from their duties, effective immediately.

This suspension will remain in place until the judicial procedure concludes and a final decision is issued by the relevant courts. The ATK emphasized its commitment to maintaining the integrity of its operations. The statement noted that the administration “does not tolerate any form of abuse of official duty or action that compromises institutional integrity and will continue to enforce [the law/rules].”

These measures underscore the ATK’s adherence to established legal frameworks when addressing allegations of misconduct involving its personnel.

The actions taken reflect the organization’s commitment to upholding professional standards and ensuring accountability within the tax sector.
