Mickoski: The voting method for the diaspora can be negotiated

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Christian Mickoski, stated on Monday that he anticipates the European Union’s upcoming report in September will demonstrate improvements, drawing a comparison to the findings of the October report. Mickoski emphasized the ongoing need for dialogue with opposition parties concerning the Electoral Code. He indicated that the approval of the code remains possible and that the tenth phase of the specified period could be concluded.

“I expect that in this September report we will be better, as we were in the October report,” Mickoski stated. He expressed satisfaction with reports from European media, noting that declarations from prominent European politicians suggest potential additions. These additions could provide a majority vote for three countries within the Western Balkans Group 6 that are advancing well in implementing reform agendas.

The Prime Minister reiterated his call for discussions regarding the Electoral Code, maintaining that a path toward its approval remains viable and that the final objectives of the established timeline can be met. The focus of his statements centers on the anticipated positive evaluation from the EU’s forthcoming assessment and the necessary political steps to advance domestic reforms.
