Mickoski: We are ready to go to elections at any time

Prime Minister Christian Mickoski addressed media inquiries today regarding the potential timing of early parliamentary elections. When questioned about the possibility of an accelerated electoral cycle, Mickoski emphasized the government’s primary objective: completing its full mandated term. However, he also clarified the readiness of his political group, OBRM-PDUKM, should the political landscape shift.

Mickoski stated, “We aim for a full mandate, meaning four years. However, if there is political strength and a majority in Parliament, OBRM-PDUKM is ready to go to elections at any time.”

His comments followed the circulation of several online polls released by various ruling and opposition parties. These polls presented comparative data, suggesting that OBRM-PDUKM currently holds greater support relative to LSDM, and that BDI shows a stronger showing compared to VLEN.

The Prime Minister’s response signaled a balanced approach: commitment to the established term while maintaining a posture of preparedness for potential early elections. By asserting that the party is ready, Mickoski framed the decision regarding future elections not as a matter of immediate necessity, but as a contingency based on achieving a strong parliamentary majority and demonstrable political strength. This statement provides insight into the party’s current political calculus regarding its longevity in power and its willingness to contest future elections under varying conditions.
