Hoxha: The tender procedure has concluded, and construction of the sewage treatment plant in Tetovë will begin soon

Minister Muamet Hoxha announced today, via a press conference, that the tendering process for the blackwater treatment plant in Tetovo has concluded, and a contractor has been selected, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Natural Environment and Spatial Planning. Hoxha indicated that preparations are advancing for the commencement of implementation, with construction activities expected to begin on site in the coming months. The project carries an estimated value exceeding 30 million euros and is projected to be completed within a two-year timeframe.

Furthermore, Hoxha noted that the addition of the Tetovo treatment facility, alongside planned projects in Skopje, Veles, and Shtip, will significantly enhance environmental protection across the state. He stated that these combined efforts will ensure that approximately 75 percent of the country’s territory will be covered by a comprehensive blackwater treatment system. The planned construction represents a major infrastructural development aimed at improving sanitation and environmental standards.

The Minister’s announcement underscores a concerted effort toward modernizing wastewater management across several key regional centers.
