The State Statistical Office has reported that both the volume and value of trade continued to show growth for the period spanning January through May 2026 when compared to the corresponding period in 2025. Specifically, the total value of goods in exports reached 217,977.7 million denars, reflecting a 5.70 percent increase year-over-year. Concurrently, the value of imported goods totaled 306,513.7 million denars, marking a 5.91 percent increase.
These figures indicate sustained expansion in both outbound and inbound trade activities during the first five months of the year. Analyzing trade by product, according to the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), certain categories dominated the export portfolio. The largest participation in exports was observed in catalysts in spent metals or their components, ignition system parts and similar items for motor vehicles, aircraft, or vessels, seat parts from subgroup 821.1, and other catalyst carriers.
In the import sector, the most represented item by value was Platinum. Overall, the data confirms that both exports and imports experienced notable increases during this reporting period. The consistent growth trajectory suggests continued robust activity within the nation’s trade channels, with specific product groups driving the respective increases in both goods exported and goods imported.
