Netanyahu says his ties with Trump are “good,” criticizes Turkey

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed that his relationship with former U.S. President Donald Trump remains “good,” dismissing recent reports suggesting disagreements between the two leaders concerning the buildup of arms with Iran or Israeli military actions in Lebanon. Speaking during an interview with Fox News on Monday, Netanyahu offered significant praise for the United States and Trump.

He stated, “America has been an extraordinary force for good, and without America, there will be no democracy in the world and no freedom in the world.”

The Prime Minister further asserted that he and Trump concur on “almost everything.” These remarks were made amidst some criticism originating from within the Israeli cabinet regarding a memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran. This agreement reportedly calls for a regional escalation of arms buildup, which includes provisions related to Lebanon.

Israel, meanwhile, has maintained its refusal to engage with certain aspects of these developments. Netanyahu’s statements aim to reassure the public and international observers regarding the stability and alignment of the bilateral relationship between Israel and the United States, despite ongoing regional tensions and internal political discussions in Israel.
