Gërvalla: Law on Public Property must guarantee legal certainty and efficient administration

The acting Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla, has affirmed that amendments to the Public Property Law are necessary to establish legal certainty and improve the administration of public assets. Through a Facebook post, Gërvalla announced her involvement in the opening session of the working group tasked with reviewing and finalizing the Draft Law for the Amendment and Completion of the Public Property Law. This working group convened representatives from various institutions and other relevant stakeholders.

In her statement, Gërvalla emphasized the critical role of the legislation, noting, “The Public Property Law must create legal certainty. Creating a clear legal framework is essential for guaranteeing legal certainty and the efficient administration of public property.” She stressed that updating the current law is crucial for ensuring that the management of public property adheres to a clear and consistent legal structure. The proposed amendments aim to streamline administrative processes and clarify the legal standing of public assets.

By updating the existing law, authorities intend to resolve ambiguities and create a robust legal foundation. This process involves multiple institutional inputs to ensure the revised law is comprehensive and aligns with current legal mandates governing public resources. The objective remains the establishment of a definitive and efficient legal framework for the governance of public property.
