Dairy Cooperative: 5-6 tons of milk from Podujeva and Vushtrri go uncollected

The Kosovo Dairy Association reports that measures introduced by the Ministry of Agriculture are beginning to show positive initial outcomes, resulting in an increased collection volume of farmers’ milk. However, the association noted that operational difficulties persist in certain regions. Field reports indicate that specific areas, notably Podujevë and Vushtrri, continue to present challenges in fully collecting the entire local dairy production.

According to the Dairy Association’s statement, the issue remains concentrated in parts of Podujevë and Vushtrri. Specifically, the association reported that approximately 35 farmers in Podujevë and around 30 farmers in Vushtrri have not yet had their milk collected. This represents an estimated shortfall of 5 to 6 tons of uncollected dairy product.

In light of these localized collection gaps, the Kosovo Dairy Association has issued a request to local milk processors. The appeal urges these processors to extend their coverage to the aforementioned areas. This action is deemed necessary to ensure that the entirety of the region’s dairy output can be successfully gathered and processed.

The initial success in collection volumes is being tempered by these ongoing logistical hurdles in key operational zones.
