Lutfi Haziri, the Deputy leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), stated that his party has formally requested that the constitutional session of the Parliament continue operating until midnight to ensure adherence to constitutional deadlines. Speaking from the Parliament hall, Haziri emphasized that the LDK’s position is rooted in maintaining constitutional standards and respecting institutional procedure. “The LDK has waited for and requested, and invited that the session be held until 00:00, in order to preserve the constitutional deadlines, preserve the constitutional spirit, the constitutional framework, and the standard that we have achieved over the years while also being the leader of our institutions in Kosovo, and being a participant in our political history,” Haziri stated.
The LDK’s request comes amid a dispute over the timing and scope of the day’s proceedings. The opposition has demanded the session take place today, a move which one political entity described as a “theatrical show.” Haziri maintained that the LDK’s insistence on extending the session is a necessary measure to uphold the established constitutional framework within the Parliament.
