The Movement of Free Citizens (PSG) in Serbia has called for the immediate resignation of the Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government, Snezhana Paunović. The demand stems from remarks made during a public appearance, which PSG characterized as containing hate speech. Specifically, the controversy centers on a statement where Paunović allegedly stated intentions to “ethnically cleanse Kosovo of Albanians” in 1998.
PSG assessed this declaration as an explicit advocacy for ethnic cleansing. Furthermore, the group dismissed subsequent explanations provided by the minister, suggesting that her clarification regarding the expulsion of people to their “place of origin” did not negate the seriousness of the initial remarks. In a formal statement, PSG also voiced concern over other declarations attributed to Paunović, alleging that these statements portrayed Albanian individuals in a racist manner, describing them as inferior.
