The Council of Public Prosecutors announced plans for a competition in August to elect the next head of the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption. This process aligns with legal requirements preceding the current chief’s term conclusion. During its session today, the Council also elected Zoran Markovski to serve as the basic public prosecutor at the Kriva Palanka Office.
Additionally, the Council appointed new directors to three different basic prosecutor’s offices: Suzana Boshniakovska in Berovo, Darko Cvetanoski in Šen Nikolić, and Edmond Sherif in Resnjë. Furthermore, the Council formally approved the allocation of public prosecutor positions for the upcoming five-year period. Under the new systematization plan, there will be a total of 261 designated positions.
This figure represents an increase from the 194 public prosecutor positions currently filled. These decisions outline the administrative and leadership structure for various public office functions within the judiciary. The election of leadership and the determination of staffing levels signal the organizational planning for the judiciary’s operational capacity moving forward.
